Play Date with the Rain!

Saturday morning the weather was gorgeous! It had been raining on and off the past couple days so it was overcast with a little breeze. Perfect morning to take a family walk! So we headed out! It felt so good to be outside in the fresh air! We walked for probably over a 1/2 hour when it started to drizzle a little. We thought, oh it'll be okay, we should make it back home before it really rains - if it's even going to.

WELL....rain it did! And we definitely didn't make it home before it did so. So as we were walking home, getting soaking wet in our shorts and flip-flops, we figured since we were already wet, we may as well have some fun! So we decided to let our kids have some PLAY TIME IN THE RAIN!

Mike was going to show the boys how to have "stick races" in the gutter, but since we couldn't find any sticks, they had "shoe races" instead! Each of them took off a flip-flop and they raced them down the gutters/road that was full of water!
The kids thought that was the funnest thing!

Connor had been in the stroller on the walk, and he wasn't sure what to think about the whole rain thing. He was happy and content to be out there with us, but he kept giving me the funniest looks as if to say "What is going on?!".

Shawn and Brady on the other hand were happy as can be to be splashing around in the gutters and puddles in the road! So much fun for two little boys!

And Connor eventually realized that we were all having fun and even he was all smiles by the end! :)

I don't think there is anywhere else besides Arizona where you can go outside and play in the rain for a while in your shorts, t-shirts, and flip-flops (or barefoot!), and not even be cold for a second! Of course, it helps that even when it rains it is still almost 100 degrees outside! :)
