Football Fun!

Saturday was Shawn's first football game. He is playing NFL Flag Football at his elementary school. He is having so much fun! It has been fun for us to watch him at practice and in his first game! He says that his team won (I wasn't aware that anyone was keeping score!) We sure love him! Here he is with his jersey on:

And here is him playing in his game. He is the one in the middle with the tan-colored shorts. He is a RB (running back) for his team. The man in front of them all is "Coach O" (sorry for the back shot of the kids. I wasn't really into taking pictures that day and it was the only angle I could get when I actually pulled out my camera. Better ones to come later!):

After Shawn's game was over we went up to the Cardinals football stadium (University of Phoenix Stadium) to watch the NFL draft! It was a lot of fun! They have a whole "draft party" thing with lots for the kids to do and best of all - it's FREE!!! Here are Shawn and Brady walking with their dad. They look up to him so much and want to be just like him!

And here is Connor riding on Mike's shoulders. He also is a daddy's boy! He loves nothing more than when dad comes home from work and plays with him! :)

with a tub full of water:

and a bottle of shampoo?

You guessed it! A bubble bath for two!!!

With plenty of bubbles around the entire bathroom for mom to clean up! Oh joy! :p

Random pics of our Connor

I apologize for all the pictures of Connor lately, but in my defense he is my baby and I just can't get enough of his cute little face!!! Especially when he grins at me like this:

He absolutely loves his binky! I have been blessed by the fact that all my children would take a binky! (So nice to help keep them quiet!) I was worried that Connor would be a thumb-sucker so we made sure that we gave him a binky from the time we were in the hospital! (He definately likes to chew on his fingers so I'm glad we did!)

Here if you look close you can see the little "pearly whites" of his 2 bottom teeth!

He has now learned to pull himself up to things and he thinks it is the greatest thing in the world! We can't even get him to play with toys anymore - he just heads straight for the closest chair, couch, toybox, etc. to stand himself up! Then he just looks at you and smiles and laughs like he just did the greatest thing ever! So funny! I love this picture because I love how his little toes are pointed on his back foot! :)
This is him smiling so big after standing up!

And that is why I just can't get enough and why I have sooo many pictures of our sweet little boy!

Fair Fun and Hannah Montana

Last Saturday we took the kids and went to the Maricopa County Fair up at the State Fair Grounds. It was a lot of fun to walk around, eat yummy, albeit greasy, fair food, and go on a couple fun rides! Here are the kids at one of the exibits (see Spongebob Squarepants in the background!).

Here is a closer look at Spongebob. We didn't want to wait in the loooong line to shake his hand, so we just admired him from afar! :)

Here are Shawn and Brady walking through one of the "fun houses" (Disney themed one).

Shawn wanted to go on the "Dizzy Dinosaurs" so he did - all by himself! Brady was too small for it so he went on a different ride (Mike took him while I stayed with Shawn, so no pics of that.)

It was a lot of fun, but VERY HOT to walk around outside for so long! After the fair, we took the kids to the movie "Hannah Montana". Very cute! Since we have boys, they wanted to see it, but it wasn't pertinent that we go the opening week - which was nice because we had almost the entire theater to ourselves!!! We all enjoyed it and have now had the songs stuck in our head for the last week. "Boom boom clap! Boom-di-clap-di-clap!" (That is all I know and I can't get it out of my head!!!) Neither can the boys I've noticed because they walk around the house singing the same thing!

Oh Boy! Here Comes Trouble...

So this morning when I went in to get Connor out of his crib I found this:

And last night he did this:

Last night on the stairs was the first time he had actually pulled himself up to standing and he already figured out how to do it in his crib! And with the stairs - he doesn't even crawl yet, but he's already climbing stairs?! (He tries to crawl, but can scoot much faster and seems content with that for now.) Granted, he only made it up one step, but we all know what happens next! I guess it's time to put up the gate and make sure we pull up the side of the crib every night... Oh boy!....Here comes trouble!

Thoughts of a 4-year old...

So we were driving home from the baseball game Monday night and Brady all of a sudden blurts out:

"I love all girls! All girls are so pretty! Like Jenna is pretty [meaning Aunt Jenna], the daycare Jenna is pretty [girl I babysit], my mom is pretty, Grandma is pretty. All girls are just pretty!"

Then he thinks for a minute [with Mike and I holding back our laughter!]...then says:

"Women aren't pretty though...women are just...just...OLD! Yeah, girls are pretty and women are old!"

Mike and I were laughing so hard! This was completely out of the blue and just his true thoughts. So funny! So of course we started asking him different questions such as: "Mom is a woman, is she old or pretty?", ect. It was pretty funny to hear his responses to everything! I just love the way a four-year-old's mind works. They are just so honest with what they feel and think about everything! Absolutely hillarious sometimes! :)

Monday the 13th -- D-Backs Game!

Mike's parents and his brother, with his wife and their little boy, were here this last weekend. But with Emily's family staying at our house, we didn't really get to see them too much. So, Monday night we went into town and went to a diamondbacks game with them. It was a lot of fun! Here is Mike's brother BJ, his wife Leslie, their boy Talin, and our three boys at the game:

Here is Brady with his "rally cap" and Grandma McDougal:

Mike and Shawn with their "rally caps" on:

Emily and Connor (forgive this one - I was holding the camera myself and it's the best I could get!)

We all had a lot of fun -- even if the D-backs lost! :( -- it was fun to be there with family that we don't get to see very often.

Sunday the 12th -- HAPPY EASTER!!!

Sunday we got up, saw what the Easter Bunny brought, hung out, went to church, had a yummy Easter dinner, and hung out some more until bedtime! It was so much fun to have my family here staying with us for the weekend. It sure made Easter a lot more fun!

The kids all waiting to see what the Easter Bunny brought for them. Shawn, Brady, Jenna, Connor and Derek. So excited they could hardly stand it! :)

Connor with his cute hat and a couple of the goodies that the Easter Bunny brought him. Can you see that cute smile under that binky?!

Shawn and Brady checking out the loot they got from the Easter Bunny. They, of course, had to open every egg right away to see what was inside!

Shawn and Grandma Lesa

The Easter Bunny always hides extra candy around the room and the kids have to search around for it. Then they put it all into a big bowl and divide it equally between them. They have so much fun looking all around for it. Here are a couple pics of them searching. (above and below)

This was Connor's First Easter! Here he is in his cute church outfit.

Connor's favorite new toy are these plastic easter eggs. He entertained himself forever with these! We may just have to keep them around for a while even though easter is now over! :)

The kids were all so worn out by the end of the day - and after an eventful weekend! Here they are all crashed out on the boys floor for the night! They had so much fun together! Shawn and Brady sure do love their Aunt Jenna!

Hope everyone had a Happy Easter!

Saturday the 11th -- Hanging Out With The Family!

Saturday, we hung out with our family all day. We went to the new 3-D movie "Monsters vs Aliens". It was very cute - the kids all loved it! Then we went to lunch at one of our favorites - "On The Border"! Mexisan food - yum! :) Here are the kids riding in the car:

(Brady, Jenna, Shawn)

Here is Shawn - "Peace, Brother!" :

And Brady (attempting the peace sign!) :

The kids in "jail" at Goldfield:

(Shawn, Jenna, Brady, Derek)

And "locked" in the cage:

(Jenna, Brady, Shawn)

The family in front of the train station:

(Connor (in stroller), Emily, Shawn, Brady, Jenna, Derek, Lesa, David, Mike)

Kiddos on the train:

(Brady, Jenna, Shawn)

There were a whole bunch of Delorian (sp?) cars there - way cool!!! Apparantly there is a club of people that own this type of car and they all get together every now and then to do different activities. Funny, huh? Cool to see all the cars together though!

We had a fun day just hanging out and spending time together. So fun to have family here for Easter weekend!

Friday the 10th -- Egg Hunt

My family was here for Easter weekend so my mom and I decided on Friday to take my 3 boys, my little brother and sister who were here, and the 4 kids that I had that day for daycare and do an Easter Egg Hunt at the park behind my house. The kids were so excited! This is a picture of all of them before the Egg Hunt.

This is my mom and all the kids searching the grounds/bushes/trees for Easter Eggs.

Emily helping Brianna look for eggs.

Mom helping to point out areas for the kids to look for the eggs.

"Aunt" Jenna and Brady with their bags full of eggs!

Searching for the Eggs.....

.....more searching.....

.....and more searching!

Dividing up the eggs so everyone gets the same amount! :)

All the kids with their full bags after the hunt was over! They had so much fun!

Derek, Shawn, Connor, Jenna, and Brady after the Easter Egg Hunt! Fun day and lots of candy!
