Camp Rock Concert

Back a few months ago, Mike found a good deal ($10 tickets!) on a concert we new the kids would love {the "Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, & Camp Rock Friends"} so we decided to go for it! The concert was on Tuesday, September 14th. It ended up being so much fun! We took the kids up there to the Cricket Pavilion and got to "camp out" on the grass for the concert. Since Mike & I both had to work, we couldn't leave until kinda late, so we ended up being quite away back on the grass, but we could still hear great, see pretty good, and had a good time! Our boys love the Camp Rock movies (and hence love the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato) and so since all of the above were there it was perfect! Here are a few pics of the concert (VERY BAD pictures - way too hard to get from so far away and in the dark!)

Mike - not quite as excited as the rest of us to be there, but being a good sport (and a goofball) about it all! :) Even though it wasn't really his thing, it was fun to be there as a family!

Labor Day Laziness...

I just love holiday 3-day weekends. The kids get a day off of school, Mike gets a day off of work, and we can all rest, relax, and be lazy for 3 whole days! Well, until Monday evening anyway until we have to prepare for the week ahead!:)

This Labor day weekend we decided to just do a small simple little get-a-way with our kids here close to home. We found an awesome deal on a hotel/condo up in Scottsdale and decided to make a night of it! Sunday afternoon we drove on up and were able to spend some fun time as a family. The room had a kitchenette in it with a full-size fridge, microwave, stovetop & dishwasher so we took food with us to make and eat there so we could spend all the time we had there. We swam, hung out and watched a movie in our room together, had yummy treats, and just had fun being together as a family.

They had a really fun pool that the kids just loved! It had a waterfall at one end that they loved to play under. As well as fun "noodles" and things to play around with. They also had a splash pad for the kids that was fun (Connor liked that a lot) but I didn't get any pics of that.

The kids (after swimming so looking a little like rug-rats) hanging out in the hotel eating all sorts of snacks (hence the messy faces and fingers) :) They had so much fun!

First thing in the morning it was back out to the pool again for more swim time before having to check out.

After we checked out we took the kids to the dollar theater to finally see the movie "The Last Airbender" that they've been wanting to see forever! Then it was Olive Garden for lunch - yum! Then off to home to relax for the rest of the day and get ready for the busy week ahead. Overall it was a very fun and relaxing 3-day weekend with lots of time spent together as a family. Sure wish we had those more often!!!
