{More} Football & Forts

Sports and Forts. Story of my life for the last couple weeks! :) Brady is having fun playing soccer still {he scored another goal in his last game!} Last Saturday was Shawn's last flag football game of the season. Here are just a few snapshots of the fun! First, you gotta get your "Game Face" on:

Him and his teammate just after scoring a touchdown.

Setting up for a play:

Running down the field:

Grandma McDougal was able to make it down to the game and it was so fun to have her there! Here she is with our star player:

Grandma with Shawn and Brady:

Connor had a lot of fun at the game running around with his big brother Brady.

Can't get enough of that milk. Yum! :)

Saturday night Mike built the boys a fort to sleep in (they had been begging to sleep in one for weeks!) So finally...

...they were happy as can be!

They sure can be goofy sometimes! :)

Do you think they are really asleep or just faking?
{I'm pretty sure they're faking --- took a while for them to get to sleep after being so excited and having so much fun setting up camp.} But so fun for them!

Well, that was our weekend. Thanks for stoppin' by to check up on us! :) Next week:
THANKSGIVING IN UTAH!!!

Brady's 1st Soccer Game {this season}.....

Being from Utah, it's always strange to me that here in Arizona, October brings the beginning of soccer season instead of the end of it. :) Brady is playing with a league set up in our neighborhood by a lady in our stake. Both Shawn and Brady played last year, but since Shawn is playing football, I just signed Brady up. His team are the Green Knights. Saturday was their first game this season and they did great!! Brady even scored a goal!!! Here are just a few random pics of Brady in his game. They aren't wonderful pictures, but at least you can see him! {Shawn actually took most of the pictures for me because he was bored and wanted to play with my camera.}

I love watching little kids play soccer! It is so funny sometimes! They will periodically just wander the field until someone calls them back to attention. Also, they all are right there trying to get the ball which makes it one big mass of little kids all scrambling and tripping over each other to get the ball. My very favorite is when they take it away from someone on their own team!!! But, hey! All they are taught is to get that ball and get it in the goal...they don't care who they take the ball from! As I said...SO funny to watch! :) Brady is actually pretty good at knowing what he is doing. He played last year (most of the kids have never played before) so he is one of the better kids which makes it fun for him! Can't wait to see how they play the rest of the season!

Fort {or Tent} Building!

On Friday Brady and the 2 boys I babysit {aka "Daycare Kids" as my boys refer to them} decided they wanted to build a "tent" with blankets. When I was little we used to call them "forts" and I kept referring to it as such, but the kids kept correcting me and informed me it is call a "tent"! :) Anyways! They had so much fun doing it and couldn't believe that mom was cool enough to know how to build a "tent". It was pretty cool if I do say so myself...it took up a good 1/3 of their room!

Here are Braeden and Jason (the daycare kids) and Brady standing in front of their tent.

Connor was excited to get in on the action as well.

Connor thought it was SO cool to be inside the "tent" with the other boys!

Here's the 3 boys inside their "tent". They spent so much of the morning playing in here! They had a blast and filled it up with all sorts of fun toys and things to do while inside. :)

I LOVE when my kids play and do things that remind me of my childhood! Funny the things that kids do that have stuck around over the years. I used to love building big "forts" with my brothers and my friends. Good memories!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Fall Parade

We started our weekend festivities by going to Shawn's elementary school's Fall Parade. It's where all the kids wear their costumes to school that day and they have a parade outside around the school to show everyone their costumes. It's fun to watch all the kids that are so excited for Halloween! Here are just a couple pics of that. The first is actually Shawn's 2nd grade teacher, Ms. McCarthy (the one wearing the Cardinals' Jersey).

Some of the kids in Shawn's class.

And there is Shawn. He dressed up as "Ash" the Pokemon Master. :)

Trunk-Or-Treat

Our ward had their annual Trunk-Or-Treat on Friday night. It was so much fun! I decided to get some pics of the kids before we went. Here is Shawn in his "Ash" costume.

I didn't take any of just Brady (pirate) because I got some the day before when he dressed up for Preschool (see post below). Here is my attempt at getting a picture of Connor. He just kept running away from me, so it's the best I could get. He was our cute little "Tigger" for the weekend!:)

And here is the attempt at getting the 3 boys all together. {Once again, Connor kept trying to run away!}

Shawn and Brady --- they had so much fun together at the Trunk-or-Treat. Mike had to work so he was a little late, therefore, Shawn walked Brady around to all the trunks to get candy so I could stay by ours to pass out candy to everyone else. Such a good big brother!

Connor's favorite part about the Trunk-or-Treat {besides scarfing down the smarties} was this bouncer toy that my neighbor had brought for her little guy to play in. He was so happy to be out of the stroller and playing with the toys! {Thanks Aubrey!} :)

Halloween Night!

Saturday night we took the kids trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. {As if they didn't get enough candy from the trunk-or-treat!} Before heading out I decided to try and actually get a pic of Connor since I couldn't the night before. And it worked pretty good this time -- or at least I was quicker with the button! Isn't he such a cute little tigger? :)

We didn't get any pictures trick-or-treating or anything, but here are the kiddos enjoying their candy at home afterward. Here is Connor (sorry about the open-mouth shot!) enjoying some yummy m&m's (his favorite besides the suckers).

Shawn and Brady enjoying all their goodies! It kinda makes me sick to look at those huge piles of candy! :)

Overall it was such a fun weekend!!! Hope you all had a fun Halloween as well!!!
