Spreading The Love....

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
{yesterday}

Even though Mike and I don't ever technically celebrate this holiday (we share our love every day!) it is still fun to have a day to do special things for each other and for our kiddos whom we love so much!

Here is me and Mike - the love of my life!

It's also always fun to have an excuse to do fun and creative things with the kids. For instance, we had heart shaped pancakes for breakfast and heart shaped sandwiches for lunch! Also, the kids LOVE taking Valentine's to school to give to their classmates and friends. This year we decided to do the "home-made" thing and I think they turned out cute!

Brady - who is in Kindergarten therefore his first school valentine's day - had so much fun in his class party! Here he is wearing the "love bug" hat he made at school.

After the kids got home from school I had fun doing a little V-day craft with them. We actually did it with all the kids I babysit too (so 8 total). First we took a picture of all the kids and printed a wallet-sized one off our computer. Here our the 3 other loves of my life!

And here is the cute Heart/Flower craft we made! They turned out so cute! And the kids parents all LOVED them! Yay!

Here is a close up of my 3 little guys.

Overall it was a very fun day! I love to be able to show a little bit of "extra" love to my 4 boys!! They are everything to me and it's fun to have a day to celebrate that!
Happy Valentine's everyone!!!

A Weekend of Hellos and Goodbyes...

The last weekend of January we went up to Utah for a little quick trip of 3 days. Those three days were packed full of "Hellos" and "Goodbyes"...

We got to say "hello" to our newest little nephew born to Jared and Ashley on Friday January 28th! (The day before we got there.)
Meet Kayden Jared Reid!!!
{I hope that's the right spelling! Sorry Ashley if it's not!}

Grandma Lesa with her new grandson! That makes 5 grandsons total!

Me (Emily) and my super cute and tiny nephew!

While we were there we of course got to spend the time with family. My nephew Parker's 1st Birthday was going to be on February 1st (the day after we left) so we gave him a little gift while we were there. Isn't he cute?!

Me and my beautiful cousin Amanda Dayley! I love her! I think we look a lot alike except for my face is rounder, and our hair color is different right now (we technically have about the same color, but mine is dyed dark and hers light!). I love that our eyes are the exact same color - which sounds weird, but it's not a normal color. :)

And the "Goodbye" for the weekend....and the main reason for our travels up to Utah...
To say our goodbyes to my little brother Kevin who is leaving on his mission for the next two years! He is going to the Farmington, New Mexico mission! Funny that he will be SO CLOSE (part of his mission includes Flagstaff, AZ!) but we still won't be able to see him!

Here is me and my little bro!
{Yes, I have 5 little brothers and yes, the are ALL taller than me!}

Shawn, Brady, and Connor with their fun Uncle Kevin!

Kevin we love you and will miss you! But we are so excited for you to serve your mission - an experience that is sure to change your life! Good luck!!!
{Kevin went into the MTC on Wendesday, February 2nd}

Poor Connor!

January has been a crazy month as far as sickness being spread around everywhere. It seems like so many people have been getting sick! And it didn't pass us by either...most of the kids I babysit have had coughs, runny noses. But it sure hit Connor HARD!

He woke up from his nap one afternoon with a fever of 105 degrees! Wowza! We got it to come down and watched him to see if it would go back up. He woke up the next morning with a bad cough and still had a pretty high fever. We watched him throughout the day and decided the next morning to take him to the doctor's (still had fever, bad cough, and was starting to breath kinda raspy.)

At the doctor's we found that he had a viral infection that was causing a lot of junk in his lungs (hence the bad cough). He is "asthma prone" and so with it all he was having a hard time breathing - hence the raspy breath. He also had a mild ear infection in one ear. the fever was obviously his body trying to get rid of it all! So, we left the doctor's and ended up with our counter looking like this for a few days:

He had Tylenol for the fever, antibiotics for the ear infection, a steroid for the junk in his lungs and the breathing, and a breathing treatment for the asthma. Poor kid had to be on do many medications for a few days...then it dwindled down little by little until it was all over. He was a trooper though and took everything so good!
Here he is doing his breathing treatment:

Doesn't that make you so sad?! :( At least we caught it all and he was able to get over it pretty quickly! I'll tell ya though, after a week of him just laying around the house, it sure is good to have him back to his normal, happy self again!!!

Great Job Boys!

January was the end of the 2nd quarter for Shawn & Brady at school. They both did great and received awards at their school assembly.

First was Shawn (3rd grade) - he got Student of the Month for October as well as Scholar of Distinction for his awesome grades!

Brady (Kindergarten) got Student of the Month award for November. He also got awesome grades but they don't give awards to Kindergartners for grades. :)

Way to go boys! Keep it up!

January Randomness...

I have a lot of just random pictures from the month of January so I thought I'd stick them all together in one random post! :)

Brady and Tanner (6-yr-old I babysit) decided one day they wanted to do one of my P90X workout videos for fun. It was so funny watching them try to do all the moves and jumping, etc. (they chose the Plyometrics one). Hilarious! They had fun though - and it wore them out a bit which was kinda nice for two kids with A LOT of energy!!! Here are a few pics of them "working out":

For Christmas we gave our 3 boys this little club house. They got to help Mike saw, hammer, and nail it all together! {It's fake wood and came with tools to really build it.} They had so much fun doing it all together and it sure turned out cute! They now have fun playing in it in the backyard!

One day Brady, Connor and Tanner (boy I babysit) all wore their Cardinals Jerseys the same day and they thought it was funny and wanted me to take a picture of it - so I did! :)
{Shawn actually wore his the same day too, but was at school when we took the picture.}

Happy New Years!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

My kids think it's really funny to go outside at Midnight and bang pots and pans together and yell "Happy New Year" as loud as they can! :)

Hope everyone has a great 2011!!!

Reid Family Pics!

Back in December when we went home to Utah for Christmas, my family (Reid's) got some new family pictures taken. We wanted to get some new ones before my little brother Kevin left on his mission (beginning of February - more on that later.) I just got them back last weekend and so now here they are!
Here is our entire family - in-laws, grand-kids and all! We already have such a big family and this is only with 4 of the 8 siblings married! I can't even imagine what it's going to be like when the last 4 are married and we all have children! Crazy! I love it! :)

Mom and Dad with the 8 of us kids:
{I LOVE this picture!}

Me and my brothers and sister:

Just the Girls:

Grandpa & Grandma with their 4 Grandsons! (3 of them are mine!)
And one more grandson was born a month after this picture was taken!
What is up with all boys in our family?!?! :)

As long as we were all dressed up and getting pictures taken, Mike & I decided we needed a new one of just the two of us. I love it!

I'm so excited to have new family pictures to hang up in our house!!
